SAIF is funded — the project platform is live

Sustainable AI for Flourishing (SAIF) has been accepted for funding. Over the coming years, the project will develop and test a philosophically rigorous, democratically grounded framework that re-centers AI development around ecological integrity and human flourishing — moving from the deep ecology of Arne Næss to practical instruments for design, ethics, regulation, and governance.

This site will serve as the project’s public platform. From day one it hosts:

• An interactive assessment tool implementing the AI ESG Protocol — a structured way for organizations to evaluate and disclose the environmental, social, and governance implications of their AI and data capabilities, assets, and activities. The tool runs entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
• A growing gallery of scenarios — imaginaries and counter-imaginaries of sustainable AI futures, seeding the project’s Epistemic Futures Atlas.
• The project’s research outputs as they are published.

Pilots with public organizations in Norway are planned as the project’s frameworks mature. If you are interested in following or participating in the project, get in touch.
